Kundapur: Nine-day Navarathri Festival Began at Kollur Temple

Kundapur, Oct 23: Nine-day Navarathri festival began at the ancient temple of puranic importance at Shri Kollur Mookambika Temple on last Saturday October 20 with a grand eloquent function by devotees hailing from different places across the Karnataka State.

Devotees from the neighboring state of Kerala were a special attraction to the visitors of the temple. Many of them offered coins and flowers to the ruling deity Kollur Mookambika whose decorated idol in the cart was taken in procession.

The next day, the small kids were initiated to the writing of alphabets in their respective mother tongues in the presence of the presiding deity Kolluru Amba.

Administrative trustees Krishna Prasad Adyanthaya, Sabladi Manjayya Shetty, Naveen Chandra Uppunda, Kishore Hegde, Udaya M Nagooru, Kusuma Mogaveera, Sharmila Yogisha Acharya and the temple secretary Chandra Shekhara Davangeri were among those who were present on the first day.
