Karkala, Oct 24: Classes were boycotted by the students of NMAM Institute of Technology for the negligent attitude of the management leading to the death of a student who met with a road accident at Nandalike near Belman here here on Tuesday October 23.
On Monday October 21 Yajnesh Hegde and Anoop Suvarna were on their way to college when their bike was hit by a Maxi cab near Lakshmi Janardhan High School at Nandalike. As a result both fell on road and were fighting for life for long.
At the time of accident three school buses passed on that way but none of them had the concern to stop the bus and attend to the victims. Even the student in the bus requested the driver to stop the bus but the drivers went away without noticing. Owing to the negligence of the management the students had to suffer on the road for 45 minutes and precious times was lost.
The students urged the management to subject the said bus drivers to enquiry and also pay compensation to the students' family. They also demanded that the educational expenses of Yajnesh’s sister who is a student of the institute should be borne by the institute.
