Udupi, Oct 25: A seminar on “Advances in manufacturing engineering”, organized by the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) was inaugurated here on Wednesday October 24.

The seminar was inaugurated by Major General AK Sinha, chief engineer, Southern Command, Pune.

Speaking on the occasion he said that the economic health of a country and manufacturing activity are directly related to each other.

He further said that the standard of living of people in the country depends on the level of manufacturing activity. The higher the level of manufacturing activity, the higher would be the standard of living of people, he added.
