Mangalore, Oct 26: Serious challenge for HR executives lies in keeping employees satisfied, as they usually do not stick to a particular job, stated Manjusha Bhatnagar, HR, MRPL on Friday October 26.
 
She was delivering the inaugural address at HR Seminar- 2007 organized by Human Resource Management Forum of school of social work, Roshni Nilaya held at Seminar hall, Roshni Nilaya here on Friday October 26.
 
HR department or executive must imbibe human touch in their routine as it has to deal with large number of employees, she suggested.

Students need to prepare and equip themselves with pre-requisite skills before entering the corporate world especially corporate social responsibility activities, because most of the companies seek help of such activities. Today employees know their rights and try to be competent. Thus it is the high time for HR executives to think to equip themselves with pre-requisite skills, she advised.
 
A beginner must take his or her occupation as a learning process. He or she needs to focus on work rather than considering money as yardstick whether to continue in the job or not. It is not always advisable to skip jobs within a short period, said PJ Rai, the chief guest for the occasion, head –personal and IR, MCF Ltd, in his address.
 
Highlighting the importance of soft-skills, he opined that soft-skills will be of good use. The soft-skills act as catalyst for the effective use of knowledge gained to be successful at work place and students should show commitment towards jobs which they are in, he advised.
 
Students should uphold ethical values while working, Dr Jacinta D’Souza, principal, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya said in her presidential address, highlighting the importance of human touch at work place.
 
Ronald Sequira, faculty coordinator, HRM forum also spoke on the occasion.
 
Sharon Braggs, convener, HRM Forum welcomed the gathering and Vikram, coordinator, HRM forum proposed the vote of thanks.
