Bangalore, Oct 29: A 32-year-old woman was killed and her husband injured after being attacked by two men in Holageripura on Saturday night. The deceased, Vanajakshi, and her husband N Krishnappa (45), were walking to their house in Puradagudde when they were attacked.

Vanajakshi worked at a garment factory, while Krishnappa is a tempo driver. Vanajakshi alighted at Soolobele bus stop at 8.30 pm and was received by Krishnappa. The couple had walked up to Holageripura when two assailants, who had followed them, attacked them with iron rods.

Vanajakshi succumbed to injuries on the spot, while an injured Krishnappa escaped. The police found him at a nearby bus stop and shifted him to a hospital in Hoskote.

“The woman had severe head injuries and died on the spot. Krishnappa said there were two assailants. However, he hasn’t given the complete details about the attackers. There could be some family dispute over property,’’ the police said.
