Bantwal: Fish-carrying Vehicle Falls into Culvert Killing Two

Bantwal, Oct 30: Two persons died on the spot and one badly injured, when a fish-carrying vehicle fell into a culvert at Ramalkatte Pump House near Tumbe here in the wee hours of  Tuesday October 30.

The deceased persons have been identified as Harish and Vinod of Kotepur. One Rajesh sustained injuries in the accident. The incident could possibly have occurred at around 2 am, police sources informed making a rough assessment.

The vehicle was returning to the city after unloading the crates of fish. The incident is understood to have occurred when the tempo driver tried to avoid a heavy vehicle with bright head-lights coming from the opposite direction, sources informed. Bantwal rural police have registered in this regard.
