Udupi, Oct 31: Annual conference on International Medical Sciences Academy (IMSACON- 2007) will be organized by the Manipal University in association with International Medical Academy on Friday November 2 at Valley View International Manipal.  This was announced at a press conference here on Tuesday, October 30.

Addressing press persons pro-chancellor of Manipal University Dr H S Ballal informed that the theme of the conference will be “Frontiers of Medicine in the 21st Century”. Former medical education minister Dr V S Acharya will be inaugurating the conference. Nearly 150 delegates form USA, UK and Pakistan are expected to participate in the said conference, he added.

For conferring Fellowships, the convocation of the Academy will be held on November, 3. Prasar Bharathi chairman M V Kamath will be the chief guest at the convocation.  The main emphasizes at this year’s conference is the institution of Dr T M A Pai Oration. The oration will be delivered by noted nephrologist Manipal hospital, Bangalore Sudharshan Ballal. Dr Irwin Taylor will be the orator, for Dr Narasimha Rao’s Oration.

At the conference, guest lecturers will be covering various aspects of medicine. The lecturers will be eminent specialists from all over the world. There will be over 50 scientific papers presented and discussed during the conference.

On the occasion, scientific committee chairman Dr Joseph Thomas, organizing secretary Dr Padma Raj Hegde, MIT director and PRO vice chancellor Dr S S Pabla and PRO Babanna were present.
