Mangalore, Jun 21: Atul Rao, who was identified as the prime witness in the senstional case of Padmapriya's death  by the police, had been freed on Thursday, June 19. He got admitted to A J Hospital here on Friday, June 20, complaining of chest pain. He has been kept in the intensive care unit(ICU) of the hospital.

Medical Director of the hospital Prashant Marla said that Atul, who is under the care of Dr Nagaraj Shetty, has shown improvement. Various tests are going on and we cannot say how long the tests will continue, he added.

In the meantime, Udupi district superintendent of police(SP) Devajyoti Ray has said that priliminary investigation has been initiated relating to the three cases registered in connection with the mysterious disappeara ance and subsequent death of Padmapriya.  The investigation is being carried out by combining all cases like finding of the car at Shirva, disappearance case lodged in Manipal station, suicide case at Delhi and a case of abduction and other offences, lodged at Manipal police station by MLA Raghupathi Bhat. The complaint filed by Bhat now has not been registered, as the case is being investigated from all angles, he clarified.

We are yet to receive the report of the Delhi police about the interrogations conducted by them relating to Padmapriya's death. Even the post mortem report is awaited, he stated. Questioned about Atul Rao, he said the police do not have any information about him as of now.  He had been with us as an informant and we have not contacted him after he was sent home on Thursday, June 19, he explained. Both the SP and Manipal police station inspector B G Achar said, that Atul would be summoned for inquiry if necessary, only after receipt of the report from Delhi police and the post mortem report. Achar also said that records are being pooled from Goa, Bangalore etc., relating to the case.

The public have grown curious about the fact that Atul complained of chest pain after he was released. It has also been noted that no security staff were deployed outside the ICU where Atul has been admitted.

Looks like Atul is being made a scapegoat. It is very unfortunate that the lady who he tried to help out due to her problems with her husband is said to have committed suicide putting him into a problem.

Raghupati Bhat will not get his wife back but why harrass someone who has his own family. What is Raghupati Bhat trying to prove? He could not keep her happy and played a trick top get rid of that poor soul.Don't these politicians have a conscience? Can Mr.Bhat prove himself innocent in this case? Are the police and Mr Acharya so scared that they cannot bring out the truth.

Their conscience will not prick them unless something like this happens to the people in their own family. It is a curse on all those who are hiding the truth.Shame on them.First of all Raghupati Bhat and all his family members should be interrogated.Who pushed her into all this? why did the mother-in-law file a missing complaint? where were the other family members? Who are the Bhat family trying to fool and why? This is a repitation of Lady Diana's death. That was said to be an accident and Padmapriya's a suicide.Poor lady lost her life.Who is next?Atul and his family do need protection.

But who will protect them?Definitely not the police who are dancing to the tunes of politicians. They cannot fool the public.

With Atul's hospitalisation (that too without any police protection), it looks like, the public has to be prepared for another bad news very soon. Late Padmapriya will be forgotton, MLA and HM will continue in powder due to non-handing over the investigations to CBI and may be many more mysterious deaths of common man in many families to follow. The begining of BJP ruling, god only knows where it will lead to?

Only the CBI can bring out the truth as the public do not trust Karnaka Police officers. Raghupathi Bhat should resign.

Police should provide complete protection to Atul and family. It looks like another suicide or accident is most likely, this time from Atul's family. Our police department needs to show its nerves and bring out the truth with complete transference. May be I am expecting too much after knowing the situation very well. Atul's entry into ICU may be an attempt to avoid being arrested on fictitious ground.
