Udupi: Puthige Math to hold ‘Sri Krishna Navotsav’ to Celebrate Janmashtami

Udupi, Jul 30: The Puthige Math will hold ‘Sri Krishna Navotsav’, consisting of various cultural programmes, to celebrate Sri Krishna Janmashtami from Tuesday August 5, to Friday August 22. 

The Sri Krishna Navotsav will be inaugurated at 4.00 pm.  Krishnayya Shetty, religious endowment minister and Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman, Alva’s Education Foundation, will be the chief guests on the occasion.
 
Sri Laxmivarateerta Swamiji of Shiroor Math and Sri Vishwapriyateerta Swamiji of Adamar Math will grace the occasion. Various traditional sports related to Janmashtami, will be part of the function.
 
Religious talks will also be part of the event which will be organized under the direction of Paryaya Sri Sugunendrateerta Swamiji.  Besides, special programmes will be held for the benefit of pilgrims arriving from various places.
 
Sri Vishwapriyateerta Swamiji will deliver a sermon at 7.30 pm everyday during the course of the Navotsav at Rajangan auditorium located in Sri Krishna Math. Interactive sessions will be held from Saturday August 16 to Sunday August 24, along with various competitions.
