Mangalore, Aug 8: Raknno Weekly, St Aloysius Konkani Institute and Konkani Writers' Forum will be organizing an open Forum on Sunday August 10 at the Bishop's House auditorium in the city. Rtn Edwin JF D'Souza will speak on the Konkani stalwarts who inspired new trends and school of thought in Konkani literature, while Henry M Pernal will speak on modern day writers and their writings. This will be followed by a discussion, which will be moderated by Fr Francis Rodrigues, Editor of Raknno.

The open forum will be inaugurated by Fr Swebert D'Silva, SJ, principal of St Aloysius Autonomous College. During the inaugural, Aanjel, the first-ever Konkani novel in Kannada script authored by the late Jo Sa Alvares and published 57 years ago by Konkani Natak Sabha, now reprinted by the Konkani Institute of SAC, will be released.

The organizers have asked interested persons to take part in the programme and involve themselves actively in deliberations and discussions scheduled therein.
