Udupi: City Lawyers Find Innovative Ways of Mobilizing Country-wide Support

Udupi, Aug 14: The district bar association has resorted to mass SMS messaging to citizens across the country from Wednesday, August 13 in an effort to mobilize people's support for their demand seeking action against anti-naxal force (ANF) personnel for assaulting city lawyers on Saturday at Srimane Falls, Sringeri.

They will also send postcards to people across the country, on Thursday, August 14, seeking support for their cause. Send mass e-mails is also another strategy which will be executed on Friday, August 15.

Sri Laxmivarateerta Swamiji of Shiroor Math, former minister Vasant V Salian, zilla panchayat president Raju Poojary and MLC Pratapchandra Shetty , have extended their support to the  lawyers agitation. The lawyers have boycotted court since the incident occurred on Saturday, August 9.
