Udupi: Parish Feast of Stella Maris Church at Kalmady Celebrated

Udupi, Aug 16: The parish feast of Stella Maris Church at Kalmady near here, was celebrated on Friday August 15.

Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza of Mangalore was the main celebrant of the festive Mass, along with priests from Udupi and other nearby parishes.

Earlier the bishop was welcomed by Fr Richard Mascarenhas, parish priest, Stella Maris Church.

The bishop distributed candles to those who contributed for the feast and attended the novena during last few days in preparation for the feast.

I wish happy feast to all parishioners of Stella Maris Church, Kalmady. Although I belong to Kalmady, I always miss such celebrations, as I have been away for quite a long time. My good wishes to all my friends from Kalmady.

Thanks Daijiworld for fantastic news and pictures. I belonged to this church until I was 20 when I moved from Kalmady in search of better future. After 19 years so much has changed - the people I grew up with...new generation. The pictures brought back the memories.
