Udupi: Dr Acharya Assures Teaching Vacancies in State Government Schools Will be Filled Soon

Udupi, Aug 16: State home minister Dr V S Acharya laid the foundation stone for the construction of classrooms at Zilla Panchayat High School, Manipura, Udupi, on Friday, August 16. The construction of classrooms will be undertaken under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (education for all project) at a cost of Rs 20 lac.



Speaking on the occasion, Dr Acharya said that the government has earmarked Rs 8,500 crore for education and necessary measures will be taken to fill the vacant posts of teachers in government schools all over the state at the earliest. A significant amount has been reserved for vocational courses too.

The minister announced a contribution of Rs 1.5 lac from his MLA’s fund for the development of his legislative assembly constituency. Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, zilla panchayat member Gerald Fernandes, Upendra Naik, Manipura gram panchayat president Chandravati Kotian, Alumni Association presient Prakash Shetty, school development committee president Govind Bhat, and school head teacher Nivedita, were present on the dais.

Teacher volunteers of the school, for the last academic year, were felicitated on the occasion. A television donated by a philanthropist was handed over to the school administration.
