DHNS

Udupi Aug 18: Three Anti Naxal Force personnel involved in allegedly assaulting the two Udupi based advocates have been suspended, it is reliably learnt.

Speaking to Deccan Herald Bar Association President Mattar Rathnakar Hegde informed that the decision to call off the hunger strike and to attend the court proceedings will be taken in the meeting which will be held on Monday morning.

The suspension order will be followed by departmental enquiry and legal actions against the accused, he added.

However, the advocates are yet to receive the copy of the suspension order and the names of the accused have not been disclosed. The accused personnel will be reinstated to their parent body once their suspension period gets over.

Earlier, Union Labour Minister for Labour Oscar Fernandes called upon the legal fraternity who were on hunger stroke in the Court Premises and assured to arrange for a legal enquiry and legal actions against the accused.
