Mangalore, Aug 20: The District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) police have been successful in unearthing an inter-state illegal liquor racket on Wednesday August 20.
The police have arrested a certain Sugadan (36), son of Ponnaiah, a resident of Trichur in Kerala.
Accused Sugadan, with and without wig
Acting upon a sure tip-off, the police raided a hotel in the city. They were successful in seizing 216 bottles of liquor stored in 8 bags worth Rs 50,000. Sources informed that Sugadan was supplying the liquor from Goa to Kerala.
Sources added that Sugadan was found to be using wigs in order to escape from the police, several times in the past. However, the luck ran short this time and he was nabbed by DCIB sleuths.
DCIB inspector Rajanna, constables Parameshwar, Dinesh, Devaiah, Harish, Shashidhar Shetty and others were involved in the raid.
