Udupi: Bunts Sangh Lays Foundation Stone for Sri Varasiddi Vinayaka Temple

Udupi, Aug 22: The foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of a Sri Varasiddi Vinayaka temple to be undertaken by the Udupi taluk committee of Bunts Sangh was held on Wednesday August 20, as part of the centenary celebrations of Bantara Yane Nadavara Matra Sangh, Mangalore.

The function took place at the Ammanni Ramanna memorial auditorium here. Development work including renovation of the auditorium and building and construction of welcome arch of Shirvakod Satischandra Hegde and Katpady Jagannath Ballal, will be done at a cost of Rs 80 lac.  Srinivas Tantri, temple priest of Herga, was present on the occasion.

Manipal University pro-chancellor Dr H S Ballal did the honours. Matra Sangh president and former minister K Amarnath Shetty, conveyed his best wishes. Federation of World Bunts Association president Ajit Kumar Rai Malady, Bangalore Bunts Association president B L S Hegde, Bappanad temple development committee president K Jayant Rai, entrepreneurs K Jayaraj Hegde, Purushottam Shetty, Rajeev Alva Madi, vastu expert Nagesh Hegde, and senior lawyer Y C S Hegde were present on the dais.

Convener Ravindranat B Hegde welcomed the gathering. Renovation committee president Bellipady Hariprasad Rai delivered the introductory address. Kudi Vasant Shetty compered the programme while treasurer B Jayakar Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
