Mangalore: Safiya Murder Case - Accused Resist Proposed Polygraph Test

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Aug 22: In response to an application made by the Kerala crime branch police, seeking the court's permission to conduct polygraph tests on the accused involved with the inhuman murder of teenaged housemaid Safiya, lawyer representing one of the accused has opposed the same. The police had said that they hoped to join together the loose ends in the case, by conducting polygraph tests, as information about the purpose of the murder etc., was still unclear.

Advocate C N Ibrahim has requested the court to exempt his client Abdulla, a resident of Arikkadi, from the polygraph tests, as he is suffering from kidney related ailment and is not in good health. He also has sought clarifications about the place where the tests will be conducted and who will bear the expenses thereto.
