Kasargod: HAL Armament Factory at Sitangoli Soon

Kasargod, Aug 23: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) will set up a production unit of armaments at Sitangoli, near Kumble.  The foundation for this will be laid on Saturday, August 23.

Union defense minister A K Antony will lay the foundation stone at 11.30 am on Saturday. The programme will be presided over by Kerala industries minister Elapuram Karim. District in-charge minister Srimati Teacher, opposition party leader Oommen Chandy, MP P Karunakaran, and MLA C H Kunjambu, will be present on the occasion.

Around 200 acres of land has been reserved for this project and Rs 46 crore will be spent in the first phase which will be completed in 18 months.
