Mangalore, Aug 28: Dr B S Sajjan (52), head of the department of community medicine in the city-based Kasturba Medical College, breathed his last in the hospital owing to illness on Tuesday August 26.

Sajjan, a native of Hubli, was residing in the Landlinks Township in the city. He was functioning as the vice-president of Karavali Veerashaiva Sangha. He is survived by wife and two sons.

    Prof Sajjan was true to his name. Good teacher with concern for others. He was instrumental in having Basava circle at KPT. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

    Heartfelt condolences. Dr. Sajjan has contributed towards "Malaria Control" in Mangalore by his research and leading the activities through Malaria Control Action Committee. This man was really true to his name a "Sajjan"
