Bengaluru: With choking voice and tears in eyes, Siddaramaiah concedes defeat

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 17: "I am extremely surprised that Congress tasted defeat in the assembly election in Karnataka in spite of giving the people very good schemes. I had firmly believed that our party would rise to power again, as during the tour of the state I never witnessed any anti incumbency wave. I fully take responsibility for this drubbing," said outgoing chief minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, as his voice choked and tears welled his eyes.

When speaking at the parliamentary party meeting which began four hours behind schedule on Wednesday May 16 waiting for the arrival of new MLAs, Siddaramaiah ostensibly was overtaken by emotions. Sources said that when he offered to take entire responsibility for the poor performance of Congress party with emotionally charged voice, senior leaders of the party pacified him.

Exercising control over his emotions, Siddaramaiah stated that he was surprised by the result of the election in spite of providing best administration and giving popular schemes. He felt that the main reason for this debacle might be the malicious propaganda engaged in by BJP against Congress party all over the state. He lamented the fact that some people continue to find fault with him in spite of providing excellent rule to the state.

It is said that Siddaramaiah said that at this juncture, there is a need to keep communal parties away from corridors of power and therefore, it is proposed to extend support to JD(S). Mentioning that the party high command too is in favour of this, he suggested to pass a single line resolution pledging support to that party. The meeting passed resolution as desired and authorized Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, Dr G Parameshwar, to convey this decision to JD(S) leader, H D Kumaraswamy.

Some legislators argued that mistakes in identifying winning candidates and issuance of tickets to wrong persons proved to be costly for the party and that the party otherwise would have got ten to 15 more seats. Central leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, intervened and put an end to this discussion.

The first meeting however stopped short of electing leader of the legislature party. It is said that this decision was not taken as the leaders wanted to wait for the coalition arrangement to stabilize. As different scenarios would need leaders of differing capabilities, the leadership has decided to wait for the developments to take shape and take a decision about choosing leader of the legislature party later.

Even today Siddaramaiah is a threat to the BJP. Combination of Siddu, DKS, and MB Patil and Parameshwara working together can shatter BJP.

Sabotage by the Congress on the image of the CM as arrogant.
Failure of the Congressmen to even acknowledge the popular schemes of the CM for the Congress which very extremely good. Failure of the Senior Dalit, Vokkaliga and lingayat Congress leaders to canvas for the CM in Chamundeshwari and show their solidarity with the leader. Money power. Even to this day the poorer sections swing their votes to the highest bidder. They calculate how many days they can sit at home and enjoy life without working. In any case the VOTERS know that successive governments will not withdraw the Anna Bagya or other Bagyas given to them. Strong example is MNREGA started by the Congress which was criticised by Modi during elections and as CM of Gujarat is now continued vigourously by them with an enhanced budget
A monumental blunder of the Congress government to have implemented the Minority status JUST ONE MONTH before the ASSEMBLY elections for the Lingayat community which was welcomed by the Lingayat Swamijis but was cleverly misinterpreted by the BJP as splitting the lingayat community which was believed by the masses. Failure of Mr Siddaramaiah and his friends among lingayats to directly talk to the people and address the Swamijis of the community was a mistake
    SIDDARAMAIAH Should
    1. Go on padayatra to the Northern Karnataka alongwith like minded friends and set right the misunderstanding created on Minority Status to lingayats
    2. Based on vote share and constituencywise strength work out the Lok Sabha seat sharing with the JD(S) now
    3. Ensure that all the MP seats due for election since they are elected to the Assembly be captured by the Congress. The JD(S) should concede the three Lok Sabha seats to the Congress
    4. All MLCs seats to be shared on the basis of their MLAs voting share
    5. Work for a stronger and consolidate AHINDA

May be people did not like Congress giving Lingayats a minority status and thus using divide and conquer policy. Moreover it seems votes for each constituency are quite affected by the candidate and his influence than rather the policies of the parties as they are very much subject to change and have no integrity. Rahul mentioned JDS a B team of BJP and then were to first to make an alliance. BJP didnt do that. However if BJP wins majority in next 2 weeks then quite obviously it got people from JDS + party which is again a coalition, and how they get it is also not ethical. Bottomline, we need someone who is better among all thieves.

DK and Udupi people have shown the right way to congress this time. Congress especially Ramanath Rai and Siddaramayya were openly neglecting and criticising the Hindus, our traditions. Best example is entering Dharmasthala Temple after having non veg and openly justifying it. Stopping the kollur temple aid to kalladka school another blunder. Now they must realise that they cannot take the majority community for granted. Those who voted Pramod Madwaraj and Lobo this time did not vote to them not bcz they are incompetent but the party they belongs to does not deserve the second chance.

    Reasons for defeat:

    1. Tippu Jayanthi - Hindus in Karnataka and Christians in Coastal area voted against Congress
    2. Lingayath religion - Unlike other minorities, Lingayats know the minority card never helps rather it makes community weaker and always look at the government with begging face.
    3. Shaadi Bhagya - Poor non Muslims are sad on not including them
    4. Pravasa Bhagya - Poor upper caste people are sad on not including them
    5. Political Murders - Rather investigating murder, Congress was making fake statistics saying Hindus are not murdered by Muslims and how many are due to personal reasons
    6. Kicking children empty stomach on Bisi Oota
    7. Toooooooooooooo much appeasement
    8. Clear divide and rule without any shame
    9. Unnecessarily blaming central government for their inefficiency
    10. Fake Kannada fundamentalism - Why Shaadi Bhaagya and why not Madhuve Bhaagya? They forgot Kannada while naming Bhagya schemes

Publicly claiming to be a non believer and replacing Fortuner when crow sat on it.
Finally, over confidence and arrogance did him in. Little bit of humility would have helped him course correct.

Also entered Dharmasthala temple by having non veg and openly showing arrogance by justifying his act in front of media. He was least bothered about the sentiments of Hindus and too much minority appeasement is the main reason. Udupi, Mlore result is the best example, Those who voted for congress during last election realised their mistakes and this time they never allowed Congress to retain seats in Coastal Karnataka.

Hindus doesn't want any development. They want only religious fake talk. For the 2019 Lok Saba Election. Just tell every Indian will be issued a 25 lakhs check on the eve of election before the results announced. You see that you will get 100% votes. let it be fake check no problem for the nest 5 years!
