Mangalore: Murder in Assam – Accused held in City after Three Months

Mangalore, Sep 17: A person accused of murdering in Assam three months ago, was nabbed by the Kavoor police here on Tuesday September 16.

A person named Raja Babu was killed three months back in Assam. Later, Lalit Methi (35) who was suspected in the case went missing. The Assam police had gathered information that he had started to live in Karnataka. The Mangalore police based on this information, launched search operations.

The police in Mangalore learnt that Methi was working as a security guard here. Sheenappa, constable attached to Kavoor police station, got information about him. The accused was accordingly arrested, said Kavoor sub-inspector of police Ananta Padmanabha.

The accused has since been handed over to the Assam police, he disclosed.
