Puttur: Excise Officers Recover Fake Liquor in Raid at Nellithadka

Puttur, Sep 18: Excise officers in a raid at Nellithadka, in Nettanige Mudnoor village, near here, recovered stocks of fake liquor worth Rs 20,000 on Tuesday September 16.

The officers raided a storeroom on the plantation owned by Jagannath Rai, son of Ramanna Rai, and discovered 112 bottles of illegally stored fake liquor bottles. Chief suspect Sharat Kumar Rai, son of Sheenappa Rai, was arrested in this regard.

Police sources informed that Jagannath Rai, also an accused in the case, is absconding. Excise inspector Shivaprasad, sub-inspector Yaqoub Khan, policemen Gangadhar Gowda, Padmanabha, Vinod Kumar and Chandrahas, were involved in the raid.
