Mangalore, Sep 19: Congress leader Siddaramaiah said that his party will decide about the future course of action within a couple of days, if the government does not backtrack from its stand and order judicial probe into the unsavoury incidents that occurred in the city and nearby places.

He was speaking to reporters after visiting various affected places in Mangalore and Beltangady on Thursday September 18. "The state government should conduct a thorough inquiry through a sitting High Court judge. There is no difference between the CoD (Corps of Detective) and the police. Inefficient and non-influential people have been appointed to the CoD which is under the jurisdiction of the home ministry. Thus, one cannot expect any unbiased enquiry from them," he said.

"We will meet at Bangalore and hold discussions. A report will be presented to the Governor on the failing law and order situation. The report will also be handed over to the Prime Minister, union home minister and party supremo Sonia Gandhi, Siddaramaiah said.

The incidents in which the Sangh Parivar organizations brazenly wielded lethal weapons and conducted raids without fearing legal consequences, have been a blot on the history of the entire state. They were pre-planned attacks supported by the state government. This is clear from the fact that the Bajrangdal leaders have not been arrested even after they confessed that they were behind the attacks. All these attacks were held under the directions of the chief minister and home minister, he alleged.

He described the attack on churches as an 'attack on human civilization' and added that he had not seen an irresponsible chief minister like Yeddyurappa. He went on to call Dr V S Acharya one of the weakest and inefficient home ministers the state had ever seen.

Siddaramaiah alleged that the attack on churches was a pre-planned, well-organized, act which was owned up to by the Bajarang Dal.  He said that the police were pressurized by the government and were instructed to not arrest any Sangh Parivar activist. Earlier, he   visited the vandalized churches and other such places.

DK District Congress Committee president B Ramanath Rai, ex-MP Vinaykumar Sorake, Vasant Salian, Suresh Ballal, Ivan D'Souza, Shashidhar Hegde and others were present at the press conference.

The recent incidents which have taken place has put a very dirty blot in the history of Mangalore where the atmosphere have always been cordial and pleasant with all communities coexisting peacefully. I am ashamed that some handful of people could keep the city for ransom and the police was incapable and impotent to take any actions( Though taking tough action with the defenceless Sisters/woman and children). My heart goes out for the people who had to Endure the indignities in these past few days. To add to the miseries the Politians come with lip sympathy not to forget the scribes who beleive in just another news or scoop under their belt and score some brownies points over the rival channel. I find the whole thing very disgusting. I used to take pride in Mangalore. I hope better counsel prevails and things get back to normalcy fast and some real strict actions are taken against all the mischief mongers. I Feel people who dont respect their own religion will insult the other religion and last but not the least we all have our date with the creator (whoever he/she or it is) and will be answerable for all our actions. You try spitting on the Sun it will fall in your place. And yes I am a Hindu but I am deeply dejected and sad and ASHAMED with the turn of events. Trust me there are many People who are sharing my opinions and we dont agree to whatever happened and there is no JUSTIFICATIONS WHATSO EVER FOR IT and STRONGLY CONDEMN IT

They are only here to appease party supremo (Sonia Gandhi)to make their position firm. Siddaramaiah here only to make himself KPCC chief , Mr. Janaardan Poojary & Verappa Moily both are here to appease party supremo only to make thier way for the Mangalore Parliament Constituency. We can't expect anything from these politicians.
