Bangalore: MP Sangliana Demands President's Rule in State

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Sep 21: Speaking at a press conference here on Friday September 19, BJP MP H T Sangliana said, that 'New Life' has neither abetted religious conversions nor published books that hurt the sentiments of Hindus.

The Sangh Parivar is engaged in making unfounded allegations against the 'New life', saying that its churches are engaged in religious conversions and deriding Hinduism. But, out of the churches that have come under their attack, only two belonged to 'New Life,' he pointed out.

The BJP government has clandestinely supported the activities of the Sangh Parivar outfits, aimed at driving Christians out of the state. The state government failed to take stringent actions to ensure restoration of peace, and the government and the Hindu outfits are disturbing peace. If this situation continues, the state government should be dismissed and President's rule enforced, he demanded.

The police officials have become puppets in the hands of the government and instead of protecting Christians, they are committing atrocities on them. They are politically motivated. If the outfits which allege that foreign money is flowing in to fund the conversions and that forcible conversions are taking place in the state have any proof for the same, let them make the same public, he challenged.

The people are frustrated over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, since the BJP took over the state administration. They are increasingly getting fed up by the unsavoury incidents that are occuring at regular intervals in the state. They will give a fitting reply to the BJP in the coming assembly bypoll and Lok Sabha election, he predicted.

In his statement, New Life Trust president V M Samuel refuted the allegation, that the organization has been printing and distributing a book named 'Satyadarshini,' terming it as baseless. "We do not resort to forcible conversions. Our organization, functioning for the last 25 years, is not facing a single case of forcible religious conversion. We are targetted on frivolous and imaginary grounds after the BJP rose to power here," he claimed.

He also said, that he and the organization respect all the religions and oppose forcible conversions. Several Christian leaders were present at the press conference.

I was wondering Why Mr.Sangliana choose to contest on BJP ticket in the first place. And i am more surprised, how he became the so called secularist and protector of minorities overnight. I had admired him once when he attended an orphonage in Frazer Town , to be precise in wheelers road in the 1980's and played guitar with his wife for those destitute kids. But his chameleon like behavior in recent months gives room for suspician about his true intentions.I also wonder, perhaps he couldn't make money from a non corrupt (compared to other political parties)BJP and could not get the importance that he was aspiring for.If he was a principled politician, he should have resigned from the BJP in the first place and start Blabbering what sounds music to his followers. Thank you Mr.Sangliana for waking up too late.We don't need President's rule in Karnataka. Please feel free to say if you are looking Mme.Sonia's Rule in karnataka without any disguise.

Once I had good respect for Sangliana as good police officer. But it is well known that he was encouraging religious peoples in office duty also. It is very sad he also became typical politician. He didnt raise any voice for Assam, Bengal, J&K, when many inncocent people were killed..Suddenly he started seeing president rule in Karnataka..I dont see any difference between  him and other fundamentalist politicians..Both are trying to gain political mileage...Shame on you the once decorated officer for going down to low level..
