Mangalore: Another Youth Drowns at Panambur, Two Rescued

Mangalore, Sep 22: Ravikumar R, son of Malle Gowda from Rampura, Chennapatna drowned at Panambur beach near here on Sunday September 21 evening, while swimming in the sea there. He was an MBA first year student of the East and West College, Kengeri, Banglore. His body was recovered after two hours.

Ravikumar along with is friend Premkant wanted to fulfill the vow that they had undertaken by way of offering services at Dharmasthala temple. The friends had vowed to visit Dharmasthala and perform puja there, if they succeed in getting seats for the MBA course.

They wanted to go to Dharmasthala on Monday September 22. A day earlier, the friends along with another friend working in a transport office, started swimming at the beach at around 5.30 pm. All the three were getting washed away by the surging waves, when two were rescued by the life guards posted there.
