Udupi, Sep 23: "Although people are identified with different religions and castes, we need to nurture the feeling of unity and nationality. Everyone should imbibe the feeling that they belong to one nation and the sense of belonging to one country brings us together," advised MLA Raghupati Bhat

Bhat was speaking after participating in the Iftar party organized for the first time at the Jamia Masjid here on Sunday September 21. "We are sharing the land, water and other things of a single nation. Let us cultivate a feeling of oneness. All the religions bat for peace and harmony. Iftar party is an example for this principle. Udupi has always been known for peaceful and harmonious co-existence, barring a few minor incidents, and the onus of preserving it is on all of us," he said.

Muslim Union president Yaseen Malpe in his address, said that there are political and other differences between people. "But as far as the notion of nationality is concerned, we are all one. All should come together as national integration is the essence of our country," he felt.
