Beltangady, Sep 23: Beltangady bishop Lawrence Mukkuzhi said, that religious conversions, both through force and lures, are forbidden as per Christian beliefs. If Christians indulge in such things, they should be proceeded against legally, he added.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Bishop's House here on Monday September 22, he condemned the attacks on churches. Every citizen has the right to embrace the religion of his choice, on his own accord. But delivering speeches that degrade other religions and distributing such books are wrong, he added. For religious harmony to strengthen, it helps for the people to get to know about other religions, he felt.

Fr Jose Varia Parambil and Joseph were present at the press conference.
