B'lore: Cabinet Gives Three Months’ Time to Complete Judicial Probe

Bangalore, Sep 24: The state cabinet has given 3 months’ time to former judge of Karnataka and Andhra High Courts, Justice B K Somashekhar, to conduct probe into the attacks on churches in the state and the incidents in the aftermath thereof.

Meanwhile, the cabinet has also finalized the terms of reference for the judicial probe to be conducted by him. Justice B K Somashekhar will inquire into the sequence of events and circumstances leading to the attacks on the places of worship and the incidents occurred later in Dakshina Kannada and other districts in the state. He will identify the persons and organizations responsible for the above incidents and ascertain whether there was any negligence on the part of the district administration in dealing with the situation.

He will also identify any other incidents related to this issue and suggest measures to be taken to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.
