B'lore: New Committee of St John's National Academy of Health Sciences Take Charge

Bangalore, Sep 25: The newly-appointed director and the associate directors of St John's National Academy of Health Sciences, were installed in a function held on Wednesday September 24, at St John's Auditorium.

The institute is ranked among the best colleges in the country. The new team consists of  Fr Lawrence D'Souza, director, Fr Glen Mascarenhas, associate director, finance,  Fr Emmanuel Raj, associate director, hospital, Fr Mathew Kattiyangal, associate director, medical college, Fr Prakash Sagili, assistant associate director, hospital.


The programme began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 3 pm. Fr Varkey Cardinal Vithayathil, president of CBCI,  presided over this and preached a thought-provoking homily. Members of the standing committee of CBCI were also present along with the newly-appointed executives.

The Eucharistic celebration was followed by a formal installation ceremony. Dr Mary Ollapally, chief of medical services, welcomed the gathering,  Fr Abraham Virutukulangara, archbishop of Nagpur, introduced the new director, Fr Lawrence D'Souza, and the rest of the new members to the audience and officially installed them.
 
The director and the new executives were felicitated by Dr Anura Kurpad, dean, Research Institute, and Madonna Britto, principal, College of Nursing. Fr Lawrence D'Souza, on behalf of his team, thanked Bishop Percy Fernandes, the new chairman of the governing board in his absence, at whose initiative this function was organized. He thanked the organizers and the gathering as well as all those who were involved in appointing the new team and assured them of their best services to the institute.  

Jayakar Jerome, IAS, former BDA commissioner, Bangalore, Kamal Pant, inspector general of police, Bangalore urban,  Adhip Chaudhuri, former additional chief secretary, government of Karnataka, Br Wilfred D'Souza, financial administrator, CRI Brothers Institute,Bangalore, and Rudolph Mascarenhas, were also present on the occasion. 

Fr Glen Mascarenhas, associate director, finance, proposed the vote of thanks. A short cultural programme by students and staff of the academy was then followed by high tea.
