Kundapur, Sep 25: In an incident that occurred at Kenchanur near here on Wednesday September 24, the driver of one of the vehicles got critically injured after his vehicle was involved in a collision with another vehicle and died on the way to hospital.
Surendra and his family from Trissur Kerala were proceeding to Kollur temple in a taxi hired from Mangalore, when their vehicle was hit by a car coming at great speed from the opposite direction, at Mallari in Kenchanur village.
In the accident, Sadanand (43), driver of the car and native of Uppala, sustained grievous injuries and died before he could be treated in a hospital. The passengers of both the cars were seriously injured. All of them have been admitted to a private hospital here.
The injured have been identified as Dr Soorya (23), Susheela (45), Surendra (52), Gopal (30), Prasannachandra Pillai (46) and Sundar Rajan (52).
