Mangalore: Grand Dasara Celebrations at Kudroli Temple from Sep 30

Mangalore, Sep 27: The grand Mangalore Dasara will be inaugurated on the premises of Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatheshwar Temple on Tuesday September 30. Harikrishna Bantwal of the temple informed media persons of this on Saturday September 27. 

He added that the Dasara will be inaugurated by union minister for power Sushilkumar Shinde on Tuesday. The programme will be presided over by former union minister Janardhan Poojary, added Bantwal.

The idols of the Navadurgas, including mother Sharada will be installed on the same day. The venue has already been decorated with colourful electrical lights and the celebrations will continue for 10 days. 

A grand procession will be taken out in the city Thursday October 9. Artistes from All over the country will participate in the grand procession. The idols of the Navadurgas and mother Sharada will be immersed in the temple pool thereafter, informed Bantwal.

Cultural programmes will be held in the temple auditorium from October 1 to 8, at 6 pm, as part of Dasara. Eminent artistes from various parts of the state will perform here, he added. H S Sairam, president of Dasara committee, Raghavendra Kulur, B Madhav Suvarna, and B Manjunath were amongst those present at the press meet.
