M'lore: State-level Inter Collegiate Fest 'Samskrithi-08' at SDM Law College

Mangalore, Sep 28: 'Samskrithi-08', a two-day inter-collegiate state-level cultural fest was inaugurated at SDM Law College on Saturday September 27.

MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik inaugurated the programme. In his inaugural address, he said that the present education system lacked moral values. He said, 'Culture should reflect in our day to day activities. Unity itself is a culture. We are still in the hang over of the British culture even though they  left our country six decades ago. Culture is the base for existence.
'
Erya Lakshminarayan Alva said students should not be confined to their specialized subjects. Instead, they should go beyond and learn everything to achieve success in life. He added, 'culture is more important. It should reflect in our attire, activities, and life style.' Dr Asha Jyothi Rai, chairperson, Aasare Charitable Trust, also spoke on the occasion.

Principal Dr B K Ravindra, student council president Ajey B, and programme co-ordinator Srinidhi Hegde were present.
