Bengaluru, Oct 26: Karnataka chief minister, B S Yediyurappa, pointed out that former chief minister and leader of the opposition in the assembly, Siddaramaiah, had spoken lightly of freedom fighter, Veer Savarkar, in the recent past. He also mentioned about Siddaramaiah's reckless manner when communicating with the assembly speaker. He called upon the Congress leader to tender an apology failing which he said that a breach of privilege motion would be moved against him.

Speaking to media persons here on Friday, Yediyurappa noted that Siddaramaiah, a former chief minister, had insulted the speaker by addressing him in the singular. "There is no previous example of any opposition leaders or legislators speaking without respect when talking to the speaker. He is behaving eccentrically as he is intoxicated by power," he felt.

"Even after the Congress was decimated, Siddaramaiah has not learnt his lessons. Even after the people defeated him in the election, he did not learn to change his ways. In the coming bypoll, the people of the state will teach him a fitting lesson by defeating his party in all the 15 assembly constituencies where bypolls will be held," he predicted. On the issue of Kalasa Banduri drinking water project, he said his party had succeeded in convincing the central government to give its approval. However, he refused to be drawn into a controversy by commenting about the objection raised by the Goa government for this project.

Deputy chief minister, Govind Karjol, speaking at Bagalkot, echoed similar sentiments.
