Udupi, Nov 19: Canara Bank circle office Manipal celebrated its 115th Founder's Day at Golden Jubilee hall Manipal here Thursday, November 19.

Chief guest of the occasion DDPI N H Nagur addressing the gathered said, "A student must have a specific goal and good education to achieve something in life. Udupi and Dakshina Kannada people are well educated, that is why it stands at top in the state in literacy. Students should be always diligent and persistent towards learning. We have been through many difficulties due to Corona pandemic. But do not let it set you back from education. Our health is in our hands," he said.

General Manager of Canara Bank Circle office Manipal Ram Naik in his inaugural address said, "It is our duty to commemorate the contributions of the founder of Canara bank Ammembala Subba Rao Pai, who made incredible service in banking sector."

"Students should have dedication in pursuing education. Students must try to score high by putting extra effort in studies. Only then you can get fruitful results for your sincere effort. The main purpose of the Canara Vidya Jyothi scholarship is to encourage students to get good marks," he added.

Deputy general manager of Canara circle office Pradeep Ramachandra Bhakta addressing the students said, "The prime motto of Canara Vidya Jyothi scheme is to explore and brighten inner talent of students. They must be determined over their achievement. If not it is impossible to reach your aims. If you are dedicated in education no body can stop you. Students have the power to create wonders. They are part of building a good nation. Scholars should get recognition by all," he said.

Another DGM of Canara bank circle office Vishnudas Bhat presented the overview of the scholarship scheme and the growth of Canara bank.

Relationship Officer Kale was present on the occasion.

To mark the Canara bank Founder's Day, Canara Vidya Jyothi scholarships was distributed to 20 SC/ST merit students out of total 42 beneficiaries under CSR activities.

Under this scheme Rs 2500 will be given to V to VII standard merit students and Rs 5000 for high school merit students. A sum of Rs 1,92,500 was distributed to 42 beneficiaries.
