Udupi: Foundation stone laid for Kajaraguttu English medium school

Udupi, Nov 23: Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon on Monday, November 23 laid the foundation stone for a new building for Kajaraguttu Government Higher Primary Kannada and English Medium School.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Mendon said, "English is an international language, so learning English is necessary for communication. Therefore, we should not neglect it. Learning English has become essential in today's world. Keeping this thought in mind, we decided to commence an English medium school along with Kannada medium school in Kajaraguttu. We will provide complete support in order to develop the school in days to come."

Udupi BEO Manjula K speaking at the ceremony, "Government has approved permission for the commencement of the English medium school seeing the demand of the parents. The education department has given permission for teaching English in Rajiv Nagar, Volakadu and Padubidri schools as well. If we get such approval every year from the government, we will give first preference to the Kajarguttu school. It is commendable that the old students of the school, the elders and the donors have joined hands to do a noble service."

Manjula also promised all kinds of cooperation from the department for the development of the school.

Businessman Kuilady Suresh Nayak, national awardee and retired principal Kudi Vasant Shetty, retired schoolmaster and national awardee Malpe Raghavendra and P Ramachandra, Muralidhar and Gauri K, Udupi taluk panchayat president Sandhya Kamath, taluk panchayat member Lakshminarayan Prabhu, school headmaster Sadhu, Old Student Union honorary president Devendra Prabhu, Anil Shetty Mambettu and other members were present.
