Puttur: CODP® Mangaluru launches training course in cloth bags, masks

Puttur, Nov 24: A month’s training on making cloth bags and masks was inaugurated on November 23 at Kabaka, here.

The course is organized by CODP® Mangaluru in collaboration with CEI, Italy. 23 women registered for the tailoring course.

Fr Oswald Monteiro, director of CODP; Rita DSouza, coordinator of CODP; Sahirabanu, President of Insha Allah SHG and Gayathri, tailoring instructor were present on the dais.

Summaya, secretary of Insha Allah SHG welcomed the gathering.



Fr Oswald Monteiro speaking about sustainability encouraged the participants to work and start their own self-employment in the future so that they could earn income and support themselves and their families. "One should be independent and not depend on others. Moreover, if we have the courage and take up challenges to do any work, we can succeed in life," he concluded.

Rita DSouza spoke about the importance of the training and how women could improve their skills. Gayathri explained in brief, the need for cloth bags and masks, the raw materials required and other general information.

Marceline, animator of CODP compered the programme. Fousiya, a member of Shama SHG proposed the vote of thanks.
