Udupi,Nov 24: Ganesh (33) from Parkala was arrested on Monday November 23 by the personnel of woman's police station here. The arrest was made on the basis of a complaint of rape filed by a woman.
The accused and the girl were in love with each other for the past few years. The youth recently decided to marry another lady from Karkala deseserting the previous one. The lady had thereafter also staged protest in front of thie residence of the youth at Parkala. The youth had tried to commit suicide thereafter. He was being treated at the district hospital at Ajjarkad here.
The police have arrested the youth now and is being questioned.
