Bantwal: Kalabhairava forest dept squad confiscate lorry transporting wooden logs illegally

Bantwal, Nov 25: Forest department’s Kalabhairava squad has confiscated a lorry which was indulged in the illegal transportation of wooden logs. The squad busted the illegal operation at Budoli, Kadeshwalya village on Tuesday, November 24. The value of the logs and the lorry is estimated worth Rs 5 lac.

Bantwal zonal forest department official Rajesh Baligar, subdivision forest official Preetam S Yashodhara, forest guards Laxminarayana, Jithesh V, staff Pravin Kalmale, Bhaskar D and Jayaram took part in the operation.

Assistant conservator of forests Subrahmanya Rao launched an investigation into the matter under the guidance of deputy conservator of forests Dr Karikalan. Puttur zonal forest office staff also cooperated in the operation.
