Kasargod, Sep 8: Kumble area secretary of CPM, Sudhakar, CPM activist, Abdulla Kunhi, and hired killer, Basheer, who allegedly were behind the murder of Youth Congress leader, Jabbar, last year, were on Tuesday September 7, remanded to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) custody.

The CBI personnel produced the trio in the court of the chief judicial magistrate in Ernakulam on Tuesday and sought their custody. The custody has been granted till September 13. The three are likely to be brought here today or tomorrow, in connection with the investigations.

It may be recalled that Jabbar was stabbed to death on November 3 last year, presumably because of political rivalry. After the case was entrusted to CBI with the efforts put in by the father of Jabbar, the investigation moved swiftly. The car used by the culprits for the murder had been confiscated recently from Kozhikode.
