Mangaluru: Police ban Pramod Muthalik's entry into district

Mangaluru, Jul 29: A day after Dakshina Kannada (DK) deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra K V, based on the recommendation by DK superintendent of police Rishikesh Sonawane, banned the entry of Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Muthalik into Bantwal, Beltangady, Puttur, Kadaba and Sullia taluks under Section 144 of the CrPC, police commissioner N Shashi Kumar too banned Muthalik's entry under Mangaluru commissionerate limits from July 28 to August 3.

Speaking to media police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said, "We had internal information that Pramod Muthalik was entering Mangaluru commissionerate limits despite the ban. Hence, we detained him from the Hejamadi check post. After certain procedures he will be sent back.

"We will take necessary measures under the ambit of law. He tried to enter the district to meet the family members of Praveen Nettaru," he said.
