Mangaluru, Nov 1 (DHNS): The Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) is in the process of finalising plans for various pan-city projects and area-based development works as part of the Smart City proposal to be submitted to the Central Government, as per the guidelines of the Smart City Mission.
Based on suggestions received from citizens, the MCC proposes to develop economic growth centres as redevelopment and greenfield projects. The most important of them are knowledge, wellness and sports city; finance and tech city; eco, leisure and entertainment city, beach and backwaters tourism centre; IT park; cultural centre and city park.
The MCC has requested all persons and establishments owning large properties in city limits or contiguous to city limits, interested in offering their properties for these projects, to inform the Commissioner before November 5.
Owners of land above 25 acres can offer their properties for redevelopment projects and those with more than 100 acres can offer the land for greenfield development projects.
The projects would be developed as a joint venture between the special purpose vehicle (SPV) for the project, land owners and private developers. Attractive financial models would be developed so that it is a win-win situation for all stakeholders - landowners, private developers, the SPV and end users of the projects.
