Mangaluru: Bank of Baroda observes Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW)-2022

Mangaluru, Oct 30: As per the direction of Central Vigilance Commission Bank of Baroda Mangaluru Zone is observing vigilance awareness week from October 31 to November 6 in commemoration with birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

In this connection various outreach activities shall be conducted by the bank to bring together all stakeholders to collectively participate in the prevention of, and fight against corruption.

 

Anshu Kumar, IPS, Dy.Commissioner of Police (L&O), Mangaluru flagged off vigilance awareness week bike rally for staff of BOB from Vijaya Towers, Jyothi Circle to Sultan Bathery and R Gopalakrishna, DGM & deputy zonal head of Mangaluru zone, Bank of Baroda flagged off VAW Walkathon for staff of Bank of Baroda from Vijaya Towers, Jyothi Circle to A B Shetty circle in presence of Geetha Kulkarni, KSPS, ACP, Traffic, Mangaluru, Vinay Gupta, network DGM,  Deviprasad Shetty, regional manager, Mangaluru district region & DSC Prasad, zonal vigilance head & his team and the staff members of Zonal, regional & city branch offices of Bank of Baroda.

 Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed by the Mangaluru Zonal Office of the bank along with its 7 Regional offices and 384 branches across 21 districts of Karnataka under the theme “Corruption free India for a developed Nation”.

The walkathon and bike rally is for creating awareness about the menace of corruption and importance and role of people in creating a corruption free India for a developed Nation. The staff members took up cleaning activity in the garden at Sulthan Bathery under the initiative of Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan of our Prime Minister in connection with VAW-2022.

Also, as a part of Vigilance Awareness Week the bank’s Mangaluru zone shall be conducting various other events like grama sabhas, essay competition, drawing competition for various school students, patriotic songs singing, rangoli competition, etc. during the entire Vigilance Awareness week promoting its theme.
