Udupi: Platinum jubilee year of St Vincent De Paul Church Katapady inaugurated

Udupi, Oct 31: The platinum jubilee year of St Vincent De Paul Church Katapady was inaugurated on Sunday, October 30.

Fr Charles Menezes, parish priest Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi inaugurated the platinum jubilee year by unveiling the jubilee year logo.

“The platinum jubilee of a church is an occasion to revisit the memories of yesteryears and also to plan how to contribute to the society through church. Our celebrations should not only be associated with the worldly celebrations, but also it should include a helping hand to the people who are suffering from various difficulties in our societies. This is an occasion to strengthen our faith in Lord Jesus,” said Fr Charles Menezes, parish priest Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi.

A blood donation camp was also organized in association with ICYM unit, Abhayahastha Charitable Trust Udupi, Josan Generation Charitable Trust Udupi and blood bank Kasturba Hospital Manipal.

Fr Ronson D’Souza, former parish priest, Fr Preetham, Fr Johny, Fr Rajesh Pasanna, parish priest, Brayan Correa, vice president parish pastoral committee Cathrine Rodrigues, secretary, and Wilfred Lewis, convener 20 commissions were present on the occasion.
