Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (JD)

Udupi, Oct 31: "An exhibition of unique artworks of Drdha Vrata Gorrick, an America born artist would be held at Aditi Gallery, Udupi. The inaugural of the exhibit would be on November 3 at 5:30 pm. Exhibition remains open thereafter on November 4,5 and 6 from 10 am to 7 pm," said Dr Kiran Acharya, administrator, Aditi gallery.

Drdha Vrata Gorrick is an artist born and raised in the US and trained in the traditional arts in South India, bringing the best of both worlds to his creative practice. His work infuses new life into devotional art by combining religious styles from different parts of India while staying within a Vedic tradition. Drdha believes that the skills one receives are gifts from god that they can use to elevate their consciousness. He strives to create art that surpasses the mundane and is aided by his extensive training in iconometry, iconography, traditional painting and architectural design, as well as skills in lost-wax casting and clay modeling. Drdha’s main source of inspiration is the timeless art and architecture that he experienced during his 15 years of travel and study in India.

As about 32 art works will be showcased during these three days, people can visit the gallery and explore the art works which are also available for salel. Customized art works will also be made available.
