Belthangady: Annual feast of Christ King Church Venur celebrated

Belthangady, Nov 23:  The annual feast of Christ King Church in Venur was celebrated with great fanfare by the christian community of the neighbourhood. The chief parish priest of Belthangady, Joseph Cardoza, led the holy mass and gave a discourse highlighting the significance of the occasion.

Parish priests of various churches of Belthangady region, namely Elias D’Souza of Aladangady, Melvin D’ Souza of Badyar, Antony Vas of Gardady, Stephen D’Souza of Indubettu, Basil Vas of Madanthyar, Praveen D’Souza of Manjutti, Rocky Fernandes of Nainadu, Thomas Sequeira of Nala, James D’Souza of Ujire also officiated at the holy mass. Sister Clara Menezes, assistant provincial superior of the Ursuline Franciscan congregation, the church vice president Dennis Sequeira, secretary Stevan D’cunha and a large number of sisters were present. 

 

Cyril Edward Rego welcomed the gathering. The priest of the Venoor Church, Peter Aranha expressed gratitude to all for extending their cooperation. The church choir led by Alwin Fernandes sang melodiously during the holy mass.
