Bidar, Nov 26: JD(S) Deputy Leader in the Assembly Bandeppa Kashempur praised Gurappa D Vardhan Valadoddi of Valadoddi village in Bidar taluk for showing the love and admiration for Dr B R Ambedkar by huge and life-size statue of the architect of Indian Constitution on the terrace of his residence on Saturday.

Speaking after unveiling the statue, the JD(S) leader said erection of Dr Ambedkar’s statues on the road, traffic junctions and circles as well as in front of educational institutions or government buildings is quite common. But the action of Gurappa D Vardhan Valadoddi of Valadoddi village in Bidar taluk is not just unusual and rare but perhaps very historical.

Kashempur said Gurapa D Vardhan Valadoddi has exhibited his love, admiration and affection for Dr Ambedkar by erecting the statue on his own house at his own cost. He urged the people to follow the ideals and teachings of Dr Ambedkar.

Bidar North MLA Rahim Khan said Dr Ambedkar’s qualities of heart and mind as well as intellect are rare and said eradication of untouchability, inequality and emancipation of all people, especially the downtrodden should be the goal of all.

MLC Aravind Kumar Arali, JD(S) State President C M Ibrahim’s son Fraiz Ibrahim, JD(S) Bidar district president Ramesh Patil Solapur, Dr P Murthy, State President of Ambedkar Sene were present.
