Udupi DC Kurma Rao urges officials to work efficiently for free, fair, transparent polls

Udupi, March 6: “The officers and staff in the electoral teams that have been formed should realise their responsibility and work in coordination for conducting fair, transparent and free Vidhana Sabha elections,” said deputy commissioner Kurma Rao M.

He was speaking at the training programme held at Kundapur Bhandarkar’s College on Monday, March 6, for the officers and staff entrusted with election duty.

“Several teams have been already been constituted including the overseeing of model code of conduct, sector officers, police, plying squad, and video observations. They should realise their responsibilities and act accordingly,” he said.

“Do not give room for confusion while performing your duties. Contact your senior officers if necessary. Do not be subjected to any pressure. Exercise the power vested with you and work according to the guidelines of the election commission,” he said.

Zilla Panchayat chief executive Prasanna H, SP Akshay Hakay Machindra, additional deputy commissioner Veena B N and various implementation officers deployed for election duties were present.

Master trainer Dr Ashok Kamath provided the training.
