Mangaluru: Alumni Association of St Agnes College celebrates International Women’s Day

Mangaluru, Mar 8: The Alumni Association members along with the members of women’s cell organized a programme to celebrate International Women’s Day and felicitate the student achievers in various fields.

The programme began with a prayer song by the members of the women’s cell. The chief guest of the day Olga Noronha, alumna and former staff of the college, Sr Dr Venissa A C the principal, Vivid D'Souza, secretary and Asha D'Souza, joint secretary of the alumni association were present.

Principal Sr Dr Venissa AC welcomed the gathering. The student achievers of the college were honoured by the Agnesian Alumni Association.

Agnesian outstanding leader award instituted by Carol Pais in honour of her parents Philip and Mariette Pais was awarded to Adeline Martha Renjal of III BCom.

Most talented Agnesian Award instituted by Marjorie Texeira was awarded to Prakrathi Rao of III BBA.

Best Scholar Award instituted by Dr Meera Aranha was awarded to Shivani M B of III BSc. Best Sportswoman instituted by Daisy Coelho was awarded to Prajna J Shetty of II MA.

Vasudha, physical education director of the college was honoured for participating in masters championship at Sri Lanka and winning first place in hammer throw and second place in shot put.

Shivani Monthiero from III BCom was honoured for securing 3rd rank in the country and 7th rank worldwide in financial management paper of ACCA.

Sr Dr Venissa AC presided over the programme and congratulated all the student achievers and wished them the best.

Nayana Fernandes, alumna, compered the programme and Vivid D'Souza, secretary of alumni association proposed the vote of thanks.
