Udupi: Cheque bounce case – Accused sentenced to prison, fined Rs 10 lac

Udupi, Mar 9: Dr Vadiraj Puranik, resident of Olakadu was sentenced to prison and fined Rs 10 lac as the cheque he gave to Rohit S Hegde, resident of Udyavar for the loan Vadiraj took from Rohit got bounced.

Complainant Hegde had filed a case in this regard at the second civil and JMFC court of the city. Justice Vinayaka Vakanda sentenced Dr Vadiraj to prison and fined him Rs 10 lac.

Lawyers Sharlet Furtado, Suchita Arun Shetty and Akshatha argued for the complainant.
