Puttur, Mar 11: Mortal remains of Girija (45), wife of Koragappa, resident of Beernahitli of Mudnoor village of the taluk, were found lying in a suspicious manner on the verandah of the house on March 10 evening.

Girija, her husband Koragappa and two kids were living together in the house. The neighbouring woman, who saw Girijia lying motionless in the verandah of the house on Friday evening, immediately informed the locals. Police and panchayat president rushed to the spot and inspected.

Both Korgappa and Girija were at home on Friday along with their two kids. However, when Girija was lying motionless on the verandah of the house, Koragappa was missing. When police searched for him, he was found sitting beside a trench near the house and was screaming in loud voice. He was taken by police for interrogation.
